Started in 1992 by John Kelder Sr. , Bashakill Labradors is dedicated , through careful planning and experience  , to improving the Labrador Retriever breed with each generation .

All breeding stock has all health clearances , and are proven performers in the field . Dogs bred from BASHAKILL LABRADORS ARE SELECTED FOR OVERALL HEALTH , TEMPERMENT , INTELLIGENCE , ABILITY , AND CONFORMATION TO THE BREED STANDARD.

ABOUT OUR NAME -- The Bashakill Wildlife Management Area , located in Southeast NY , is 3000 acres of freshwater wetlands , second in N.Y. only to Montezuma.A fine waterfowling destination , the Bashakill also offers upland and big game hunting as well . A great destination to work a dog , as it provides opportunities for dogs and shooters alike . This is where our breeding program started.

What We Do

Breed , train , compete and hunt with Labrador Retrievers . Look in the coming months for the Grand Opening of our Pheasant Preserve . The tentative name is the BETHEL SPORTS PRESERVE .We will be offering upland and waterfowl hunting on a class A preserve in Sullivan County NY .

Pheasant ,  chuckar , quail ,
ducks and geese will be part of your daily bag limit , with no hunting license needed for the upland birds .
